Parish Health

St. John’s sends out disciples to minister to fellow parishioners as “Friends in Christ Helping Friends in Christ”, specifically to encourage and support each other to achieve and maintain health of mind, body, spirit, and community through all stages of life.

Meal Ministry: This ministry takes the love of St. John’s to individuals or families in crisis by furnishing one or more meals. Nancy Joyner -

Visitation Ministry: The Visitation Ministry seeks to serve elder parishioners no longer able to attend church.

Wellness Ministry: Parish Health is committed to ensuring the overall wellness of all parishioners through the provision of educational and supportive programs.

Clergy Care: It is the intention of this Parish Health program to provide assistance and support to ensure the strength and wellness of mind, body and spirit for those who minister to the congregation.

Care Team Ministry: The Care Team Ministry is committed to providing practical assistance and emotional support to members of the congregation who need a helping hand while they are dealing with short or long term illness.

Walking the Mourner’s Path: Walking the Mourner’s Path helps group members’ work on specific issues related to grief.

Sunshine Ministry: Once each quarter we gather to make handmade greeting cards filled with love and compassion for parishioners who are new to the weekly prayer list.

Eucharistic Visitors: Bring the Blessed Sacraments (Holy Communion) to members of the parish family who because of illness or other pastoral concern cannot be present for Sunday worship. Taking communion to them is how we affirm their place in the larger Body of Christ.
